Jan en Elmarie het nader gestap.

Jan and Elmarie walked closer.

"Dis 'n dissel," het Thabo verduidelik.

"That's a thistle," explained Thabo.

"Hulle groei volop op Tafelberg.

"They grow abundantly on Table Mountain."

"Elmarie het 'n foto van die dissel geneem.

Elmarie took a photo of the thistle.

"Dit is pragtig," het sy gesê.

"It’s beautiful," she said.

"Ek het nog nooit so 'n plant gesien nie.

"I have never seen such a plant before."

"Hulle het verder gestap.

They continued walking.

Die roete het moeiliker geword.

The route became more difficult.

Steil klippe en wortels het die pad bemoeilik.

Steep rocks and roots made the path challenging.

Maar hulle was dapper en vol moed.

But they were brave and full of spirit.

Na 'n ruk het hulle 'n groot boom gesien.

After a while, they saw a large tree.

Die boom het 'n diep skadu gemaak.

The tree cast a deep shade.

"Kom ons rus hier 'n bietjie," het Jan gesê.

"Let's rest here for a bit," said Jan.

Hulle het onder die boom gesit en water gedrink.

They sat under the tree and drank water.

Die uitsig oor Kaapstad was asemrowend.

The view over Cape Town was breathtaking.

Terwyl hulle rus, het Thabo in sy boek gekyk.

While they rested, Thabo looked in his book.

"Daar is nog baie plante wat ons kan vind," het hy gesê.

"There are many more plants we can find," he said.

"Kom ons hou aan stap.

"Let's keep walking."

"Hulle het aanhou stap.

They kept walking.

Uiteindelik het hulle 'n veld vol Proteas gesien.

Eventually, they saw a field full of Proteas.

Elmarie het in ekstase geraak en baie foto's geneem.

Elmarie was ecstatic and took many photos.

Die Protea is Suid-Afrika se nasionale blom, en dit was 'n spesiale oomblik.

The Protea is South Africa's national flower, and it was a special moment.

"Dankie dat julle my hierheen gebring het," het Elmarie gesê.

"Thank you for bringing me here," Elmarie said.

"Dit is ongelooflik.

"This is incredible."

"Jan het geglimlag.

Jan smiled.

"Dit was 'n goeie idee om te kom stap.

"It was a great idea to come hiking.

Ons het soveel mooi dinge gesien.

We have seen so many beautiful things."

The sun began to set.

Hulle het geweet dis tyd om terug te keer.

They knew it was time to head back.

Maar die prentjies in hul gedagtes en Elmarie se kamera het die herinneringe vasgevang.

But the pictures in their minds and Elmarie's camera captured the memories.

Toe hulle by die beginpunt kom, was hulle moeg maar gelukkig.

When they reached the starting point, they were tired but happy.

"Ons moet weer 'n keer kom," het Thabo gesê.

"We must come again," said Thabo.

"Beslis," het Jan en Elmarie saamgestem.

"Definitely," Jan and Elmarie agreed.

En so eindig hul dag vol ontdekking en avontuur op Tafelberg.

And so ended their day full of discovery and adventure on Table Mountain.

Hulle het beleef hoe mooi en ryk Suid-Afrika se natuur is.

They experienced the beauty and richness of South Africa's nature.

En hulle het geweet dat elke staptog nuwe wonders sou bring.

And they knew that every hike would bring new wonders.
