  • Dit was 'n pragtige Saterdagmiddag in Stellenbosch.

It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon in Stellenbosch.

The sun shone brightly over the vineyards, and the air was clean and fresh.

Jaco was on his way to his friend Pieter's house for a barbecue.

He walked over the stones, and the smell of grilled meat hung in the air.

Jaco stood at the fence and heard his friends laughing and chatting.

"Come in, Jaco!" called Pieter, who was standing by the grill with tongs in his hand.

  • Jaco glimlag en stap tuin toe, waar hy reeds die groep mense kon sien.

Jaco smiled and walked into the garden, where he could already see the group of people.

  • Daar was Salome, Anna, en Fanie.

There were Salome, Anna, and Fanie.

They were sitting in plastic chairs and drinking soft drinks.

"Jaco, you have to taste the sausage I made," said Pieter proudly.

Jaco took a piece of sausage and took a bite.

  • “Dis heerlik!” sê hy en glimlag.

    "It's delicious!" he said, smiling.

Pieter stoked the fire, and the coals glowed brightly.

Salome made a salad with nice fresh vegetables, and Anna carried a large bowl of potato salad to the table.

Fanie grabbed his guitar and started playing a cozy song.

  • Almal het gesing en geklapt.

    Everyone sang and clapped.

The children ran around and played on the grass.

  • “Die vleis is gereed!” roep Pieter.

"The meat is ready!" Pieter called.

Everyone came closer and filled their plates.

Jaco put a piece of chicken and a chop on his plate.

He added a big helping of Salome's salad and Anna's potato salad.

The food was delicious, and everyone ate heartily together.

  • Dinge was egter nie so rustig nie.

However, things were not so calm.

Suddenly, a strong breeze came in, and everyone held their plates to prevent them from blowing away.

Anna's hat blew off, and Fanie ran after it.

They all laughed and joked, but then the weather became more threatening.

"I think it's time to go undercover," said Pieter, and the group moved into the house.

Inside the house, it was warm and cozy.

Pieter lit the fireplace, and everyone sat around it, chatting.

  • Die reën het buite begin val.

The rain began to fall outside.

  • “Wat 'n dag,” sê Salome.

    "What a day," said Salome.

  • Jaco knik instemmend.

    Jaco nodded in agreement.

"Yes, despite the rain, it was a wonderful barbecue."

At the end of the day, the rain stopped, and a rainbow appeared on the horizon.

Everyone went outside and looked at the beautiful view.

Jaco knew that this day would stay with him for a long time.

  • Pieter het vir Jaco 'n drukkie gegee.

    Pieter gave Jaco a hug.

  • “Dankie dat jy gekom het, vriend.”

"Thank you for coming, my friend."

  • “Dis altyd 'n plesier,” sê Jaco en glimlag.

"It's always a pleasure," said Jaco, smiling.

This day in Stellenbosch once again showed Jaco how special friendship is, even when the weather becomes unpredictable.
