One morning, they received alerts that a snowstorm was approaching faster than expected.

تقرر ضرورة العودة إلى القاعدة سريعاً.

It was necessary to return to base quickly.

لكن سهل القول ليس سهلاً فعلاً.

But saying is not as easy as doing.

امتدت الرحلة لأشهر، وتكدست بيانات كثيرة وثمينة.

The expedition had lasted for months, and a lot of valuable data had been accumulated.

سليم كان يرى بأن حمل تلك البيانات سيبطئهم.

Salim believed carrying that data would slow them down.

"علينا التخلي عنها"، قال.

"We must abandon it," he said.

لكن نادية رفضت.
