Marta was running through the crowd at Barcelona-El Prat airport.

With the area covered in Christmas lighting, people moved suitcases among Three Wise Men lights and festive decorations.

The atmosphere was wintery, but the human warmth added a bit of coziness for the visitors.

Òscar, the security guard, watched people go by with his usual scrutiny.

He was a man who had seen all types of emotions in travelers.

But it didn't take long for him to notice Marta, with her anxious expression and the crumpled paper she held in her hands.

  • Marta estava decidida.

    Marta was determined.

She was carrying a letter for her brother, Jordi.

A brother estranged due to past bitterness, who now was very ill on the other side of the world.

Marta knew that this might be her last chance to reconcile.

  • Però els problemes van començar aviat.

    But problems began soon enough.

  • Marta no tenia el bitllet.

    Marta didn't have a ticket.

She had come with the hope of securing a seat, but all the flights were full after the holidays.

The lines were long, time was ticking, and anxiety filled her heart.

As she reached the security checkpoint, she saw Òscar and decided to act.

With a trembling yet determined voice, she explained her story.

She spoke of Jordi, the brother she wanted to see before it was too late.

She showed him the letter, saturated with emotions and words she had never uttered.

Òscar looked into Marta's eyes, moved by her sincerity.

He knew that stories like this were unique.

  • Va decidir ajudar.

    He decided to help.

With patience and determination, he guided Marta through security more swiftly.

Moreover, he checked with the airlines to look for a standby ticket.

While they waited, Marta reflected on what Jordi meant to her.

She remembered the laughter and the childhood fights, the love stories and the disagreements.

She realized that, deep down, family was the most important thing.

She had to leave behind grudges to make the most of the time they had.

  • Òscar va tornar amb una somriure lleu.

Òscar returned with a slight smile.

They had found a spot on the next flight.

Marta took a deep breath, a tear of gratitude in her eyes.

She knew that, thanks to the kindness of a stranger, she could see her brother and perhaps say the words she had never dared to say.

With a final thank you to Òscar, Marta headed to the boarding gate, her heart a little lighter, hoping for the journey that would bring her closer to her brother.

In the air, as the plane ascended, she smiled thinking of the second chance she so dearly wished for.

And so, among memories and reconciliations, Marta found not only the way to her brother but also the way to peace.
