We pooled our voices together then and requested for it to be repaired."

“Katerina si zamumlala pod nos: „To byla lavička, tohle je něco velkého.

Katerina muttered under her breath, "That was a bench, this is something big."

“Před nimi stál Marek, který rozdával informační letáky.

In front of them stood Marek, handing out informational leaflets.

Byl to místní dobrovolník, vždy připravený sloužit své komunitě.

He was a local volunteer, always ready to serve his community.

„Činnost jednoho může být malá, ale když se spolu sejdeme, důležité věci se mohou změnit,“ promluvil Marek s úsměvem, když si všiml jejich rozhovoru.

As Vladislav spoke, a voice came over the loudspeaker.

„Vážení občané, rádi bychom oznámili, že naše iniciativa na vytvoření nového komunitního centra získala podporu!

"Dear citizens, we would like to announce that our initiative to create a new community center has gained support!

“Katerina se zastavila a přemýšlela.

Katerina paused and thought.

Tohle bylo to, o čem Vladislav mluvil.

Viděla nadšení lidí kolem sebe a poprvé ucítila, že její úsilí by mohlo mít význam.

She turned to Vladislav and added, "Let's go vote then."

“Usmáli se na sebe a vešli do budovy.

They smiled at each other and entered the building.

Katerina svým rozhodnutím získala novou sílu.

With her decision, Katerina gained new strength.

Uvědomila si, že může něco udělat pro dobrou věc, ať už je to malý krok nebo větší.

She realized she could do something for a good cause, be it a small step or a bigger one.

On that day, during the observances associated with All Saints, when those who had passed were being remembered, the community center gained an additional enthusiastic member – Katerina.
