Letiště Václava Havla bylo plné života.

Václava Havla Airport was full of life.

Cestující spěchali po chodbách, kufry se kutálely po lesklých podlahách, a nad tím vším se nesly hlasy z reproduktorů.

Travelers hurried along the corridors, suitcases rolled on shiny floors, and overhead the voices from the speakers echoed.

Zuzana stála u vchodu a nedokázala potlačit pocit úzkosti.

Zuzana stood at the entrance, unable to suppress a feeling of anxiety.

Musela se co nejdříve dostat k nemocné mamince do Prahy.

She needed to get to her sick mother in Prague as soon as possible.

Bylo teplé pozdní léto a sluneční paprsky prosvítaly velkými okny, ale Zuzana z toho nic nevnímala.

It was a warm late summer day, and sunlight streamed through the large windows, but Zuzana didn’t notice any of it.

Jediné na co myslela, bylo dostat se na palubu letadla.

The only thing on her mind was boarding the plane.

Před ní stála dlouhá fronta na bezpečnostní kontrolu.

In front of her was a long line for the security check.

Vzdychla a pohledem hledala, jak by mohla urychlit své čekání.

She sighed and looked around, searching for a way to speed up her wait.

Petr a Marek, její kolegové, měli na starosti pracovní cestu, ale teď jí nemohli pomoct.

Petr and Marek, her colleagues, were handling a business trip, but now they couldn’t help her.

Věděla, že musí jednat sama a rychle.

She knew she had to act alone and fast.

Z očí jí vyčetli paniku, ale věřili, že to Zuzana zvládne.

They saw the panic in her eyes but believed that Zuzana could handle it.

Zuzana se nadechla a zamířila k zaměstnanci letiště v modré uniformě.

Zuzana took a deep breath and headed towards an airport employee in a blue uniform.

„Promiňte, mohu vás požádat o pomoc?

“Excuse me, could I ask for your help?

Mám rodinnou pohotovost, co mohu udělat, abych to urychlila?“ zeptala se zoufale.

I have a family emergency; what can I do to speed this up?” she asked desperately.

Zaměstnanec pochopil vážnost situace a nasměroval ji ke specializované přepážce.

The employee understood the seriousness of the situation and directed her to a specialized counter.

„Tam vám pomohou,“ řekl povzbudivě.

“They will help you there,” he said encouragingly.

Zuzana poděkovala a pomalu se její myšlenky začaly urovnávat.

Zuzana thanked him, and slowly her thoughts began to settle.

Běžela k přepážce, kde jí pomohl další pracovník.

She ran to the counter, where another staff member assisted her.

„Pokud budete rychlá a projdete bezpečnostní kontrolou, měli byste to stihnout,“ řekl a usmál se.

“If you're quick and get through security, you should make it,” he said with a smile.

S palubní vstupenkou v ruce probíhala letištěm.

With her boarding pass in hand, she ran through the airport.

Občas se musela zastavit a vydechnout, protože borůvek ve střevech jí vlastně nikdy moc neulevily.

Occasionally, she had to stop and catch her breath because those blueberries in her stomach never really gave her much comfort.

Konečně dorazila k bráně, jen aby slyšela, jak oznamují, že let je plně obsazený.

Finally, she arrived at the gate, only to hear them announce that the flight was fully booked.

Znepokojená, ale neporazitelná, promluvila k hlídačce u brány: „Prosím, mám naléhavý důvod.

Worried but determined, she spoke to the gate attendant: “Please, I have an urgent reason.

Musím se dostat na palubu.

I need to get on board.

Moje matka je nemocná.“ Okolo postávali další čekající cestující.

My mother is ill.” Other waiting passengers stood around.

Jeden z nich, starší muž s laskavým pohledem, si všiml jejího zoufalství.

One of them, an elderly man with a kind look, noticed her desperation.

„Klidně vezmi mé místo,“ řekl a sundal ze stojanu svůj kabát.

“Feel free to take my place,” he said, taking his coat from the rack.

Zuzaniny oči se naplnily slzami vděku.

Zuzana’s eyes filled with tears of gratitude.

Nebyla si jistá, zda pláče radostí, úlevou nebo díky úžasné lidské solidaritě.

She wasn’t sure if she was crying from joy, relief, or because of the amazing human solidarity.

„Děkuji vám nesmírně,“ řekla s úctou.

“Thank you so much,” she said respectfully.

Když se Zuzana konečně usadila v letadle, uvědomila si, že udělala něco mimořádného.

When Zuzana finally settled in the plane, she realized she had done something extraordinary.

Překonala svůj strach a naučila se, že dokáže čelit jakékoliv situaci.

She overcame her fear and learned that she could face any situation.

Když letadlo vzlétlo, přemítala, jak se život mění a jak je důležité věřit v dobrotu lidí.

As the plane took off, she reflected on how life changes and how important it is to believe in the goodness of people.

A tak se letadlo vzneslo do nebes k domovu a s ním i Zuzaniny obavy, alespoň na okamžik zmírněné solidaritou od neznámého dobrodince.

And so the plane lifted into the sky towards home, and with it, Zuzana's worries, at least momentarily eased by the solidarity of a stranger.
