  • Ar fore braf a heulog, gyda'r awyr mor las â llyn dyfn, Roedd Rhys, Elin a Tomos yn gerdded drwy Barc Cenedlaethol Eryri.

On a beautiful, sunny morning, with the sky as blue as a deep lake, Rhys, Elin, and Tomos were walking through Snowdonia National Park.

  • Roedd y tri ffrind wedi penderfynu mynd am dro mewn iaith, siarad Cymraeg drwy'r dydd er mwyn gwella eu sgiliau.

The three friends had decided to go for a walk in nature, speaking Welsh throughout the day to improve their skills.

  • Fel arfer, roedd Eryri yn llawn twristiaid a cherddwyr profiadol ond y diwrnod hwnnw roedden nhw ar eu pen eu hunain.

Usually, Snowdonia was full of tourists and experienced hikers, but that day they were on their own.

  • Gyda mapa yn ei law, Rhys oedd yn arwain y ffordd.

With a map in hand, Rhys was leading the way.

  • Roedd Elin, sy’n caru adar, yn awchu i weld eryr a Tomos yn edrych ymlaen at gael picnic wrth droed yr wyddfa.

Elin, who loves birds, was hoping to see eagles, and Tomos was looking forward to having a picnic at the foot of the summit.

  • Gan edmygu'r golygfeydd hardd, a'r bryniau fel tonnau gwyrdd yn y pellter, suddodd Rhys i feddyliau dwfn.

Admiring the beautiful views, and the hills like green waves in the distance, Rhys lost himself in deep thoughts.

  • Yn sydyn, gwelodd Rhys siapiau yn symud ar y gorwel.

Suddenly, Rhys saw shapes moving on the horizon.

  • "Edrych!

    "Look!"

  • " meddai wrth Elin a Tomos, "mae criw o gerddwyr arall yma yn mwynhau'r awyr iach!

he said to Elin and Tomos, "there's another group of hikers here enjoying the fresh air!"

  • "Wedi chwerthin a chael eu harwain gan Rhys, dilynwyd y siapiau gwyn pell i gyd.

After laughing and being led by Rhys, they followed the distant white shapes.

  • Agosodd Rhys, yn barod i gyflwyno ac egluro eu cenhadaeth iaith.

Rhys approached, ready to introduce and explain their language mission.

  • Daeth yn agosach a chreu sioc - doedd dim ond defaid Cymreig yno, gan bori yn dawel heb unrhyw frys yn y byd.

He came closer and was shocked - there were only Welsh sheep there, grazing quietly without a care in the world.

  • Cymerodd Rhys eiliad i sylweddoli ei gamgymeriad doniol.

Rhys took a moment to realize his amusing mistake.

  • Rhys oedd y person sy'n dysgu ieithoedd, ac roedd yn siwr y gallai ei gyfiawnhau fel 'ymarfer gwneud sgyrsiau.

Rhys was the person learning languages, and he was certain he could justify it as 'practicing conversations.'

  • ' Chwerthinodd Elin a Tomos, codi eu lluniau o'r Rhys newydd-ddarganfod yn siarad gyda defaid fel petai'n hen gydnabod.

Elin and Tomos laughed, taking pictures of the Rhys who had just discovered speaking with sheep as if they were old acquaintances.

  • Heb i neb gael eu brifo ac mewn ysbryd da, trosglwyddodd y tri i’r gwers nesaf - peidio â chymryd amheuon yn ffeithiau, hyd yn oed mewn iaith y maent yn dysgu.

With nobody harmed and in good spirits, the three moved on to the next lesson - not taking doubts as facts, even in the language they were learning.

  • O'r diwrnod hwnnw, daeth hi'n stori i'w hadrodd dro ar ôl tro gan Rhys, Elin a Tomos - sut yr oedd Rhys wedi ceisio annog defaid Eryri i gymryd rhan mewn sgwrs Gymraeg, a sut yr oedd y defaid wedi troi i ffwrdd, yn ddiofal o'u hymdrechion dysgu iaith.

From that day on, it became a story they would tell again and again - how Rhys had tried to encourage Snowdonia's sheep to participate in Welsh conversations, and how the sheep had turned away, diligently ignoring their language-learning efforts.

  • Ac wrth i'r haul fachlud dros yr arddangosfa wych o fryniau a mynyddoedd, roedd gwers wedi'i dysgu gan bawb - yng Nghymru, gall hyd yn oed y mwyafrif tawelaf roi wers i chi mewn iaith a digrifwch.

And as the sun set over the wonderful display of hills and mountains, a lesson had been learned by everyone - in Wales, even the quietest can teach you a lesson in a language and humor.
