  • Roedd hi'n fore braf yn Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.

It was a beautiful morning in Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.

  • Roedd pobl y dref yn paratoi ar gyfer digwyddiad mawr y flwyddyn - y cystadleuaeth tyfu cennin.

The town's people were getting ready for the big event of the year - the leek growing competition.

  • Elen, merch ifanc sydd â breichiau cryfion a gwên heulog, roedd hi wedi gweithio'n galed iawn yn ei gardd drwy gydol y flwyddyn.

Elen, a young girl with strong arms and a sunny smile, had worked very hard in her garden throughout the year.

  • Hi oedd yn berchen ar y 'Patchyn Pwdin', yr ardd fach olaf ar ddim ond coes olaf ffordd y bwthyn.

She owned the 'Patchyn Pwdin', the last small garden at the very end of the cottage lane.

  • Ond roedd hi ddim yn unig yn y gystadleuaeth.

But she was not alone in the competition.

  • Roedd Griffith, dyn canol oed gyda mwstash trwchus a llawer o brofiad mewn tyfu llysiau.

Griffith, a middle-aged man with a bushy mustache and plenty of experience in growing vegetables, also joined.

  • Roedd gan Griffith ei gnwd ei hun o gennin; yn enwedig un cennin anferth a oedd ef yn sicr y byddai yn ennill y wobr gyntaf.

Griffith had his own pride of leek; especially one enormous leek that he was certain would win the first prize.

  • Griffith oedd yn byw yn 'Ty Llwynog', y ty gyda'r to coch ym mhen uchaf y pentref.

Griffith lived in 'Ty Llwynog', the house with the red roof at the top of the village.

  • Ddiwrnod y gystadleuaeth, roedd pawb mewn cyffro.

On the day of the competition, everyone was excited.

  • Roedd y ceiniogau yn disgleirio yn yr awyr a phobl yn crwydro o stondin i stondin yn edmygu'r cennin gwahanol.

The coins gleamed in the air and people wandered from stall to stall admiring the different leeks.

  • Elen, mewn pryder, aeth i nôl ei cennin, ond heb sylweddoli, hi a gymerodd y cennin gwerthfawr oedd Griffith wedi tyfu.

Elen, in her worry, went to retrieve her leek, but without realizing, she took the precious leek that Griffith had grown.

  • Griffith, wrth chwilio am ei gennin, daeth i weld bod ei gennin anferth bellach yn nwylo Elen.

Griffith, while searching for his leek, came to see that his enormous leek was now in Elen's hands.

  • Roedd ganddo deimladau cymysg - siom a dicter - ond roedd rhywbeth yn ei atal rhag mynd at Elen yn syth.

He had mixed feelings - disappointment and anger - but something prevented him from confronting Elen right away.

  • Elen, wrth sylweddoli'r camgymeriad, roedd ar fin dychwelyd y cennin, ond roedd hi'n nerfus iawn.

Elen, upon realizing the mistake, was about to return the leek, but she was very nervous.

  • Sut i esbonio hyn i Griffith?

How to explain this to Griffith?

  • Roedd hi'n penderfynu siarad â Griffith yn onest.

She decided to speak to Griffith honestly.

  • "Griffith, mae'n ddrwg gen i," meddai Elen gyda llais crynedig, "Fe gymerais dy gennin trwy gamgymeriad."

"Griffith, I'm sorry," said Elen with a trembling voice, "I took your leek by mistake."

  • Griffith edrychodd ar Elen am funud cyn gwenu.

Griffith looked at Elen for a moment before smiling.

  • "Elen, mae tyfu cennin yn bwysig i fi, ond mae cyfeillgarwch a gonestrwydd yn bwysicach."

"Elen, growing leeks is important to me, but friendship and honesty are more important."

  • Penderfynodd Griffith a Elen i gyflwyno'r cennin gyda'i gilydd yn y gystadleuaeth a rhannu unrhyw wobr a ddaethai o hynny.

Griffith and Elen decided to present the leek together in the competition and share any prize that came from it.

  • Doedd y beirniaid erioed wedi gweld cyflwyniad fel hwn o'r blaen.

The judges had never seen a presentation like this before.

  • Pleser a synnwyr cymunedol a oedd yn fwy gwerthfawr na unrhyw cennin yn y pen draw, a phawb yn y dref yn cyd-dynnu'n fwy nag erioed.

The pleasure and sense of community were more valuable than any leek in the end, and everyone in the town drew closer than ever.

  • Y cennin? Wel, fe ddaeth yn enillydd annisgwyl, gan ennill lle arbennig yn nghalonnau pawb - yn dangos bod cydweithio a chefnogi ei gilydd yn fwy gryf na dim ond cystadleuaeth.

And the leek? Well, it became an unexpected winner, winning a special place in everyone's hearts - showing that working together and supporting each other is stronger than any competition.

  • Ac felly, mae Elen a Griffith yn dal i dyfu eu cennin gyda'i gilydd, gyda chwerthin a rhannu yn canu drwy'r awyr ym mhob tymor tyfu i ddod.

And so, Elen and Griffith continue to grow their leeks together, with laughter and sharing resonating through the air in every growing season to come.
