Ar ganol barcud arian y bore, roedd Swansea yn trochi mewn lliwiau’r hydref.
In the middle of the silvery kite of the morning, Swansea was immersed in the colors of autumn.
Gwnaeth y coed yn y stryd daflu eu dail coch, melyn ac aur i lawr fel blanced lliwgar ar y llawr.
The trees on the street shed their red, yellow, and gold leaves down like a colorful blanket on the ground.
Roedd Gwyn a Seren yn cerdded, eu hymennydd yn llawn meddyliau a brwsias am bresennol.
Gwyn and Seren were walking, their minds full of thoughts and brushes with the present.
Roeddent ym 5 Cwmdonkin Drive, y plasty lle cafodd Dylan Thomas ei eni.
They were at 5 Cwmdonkin Drive, the mansion where Dylan Thomas was born.
Roedd y lle’n ffynhonnell o ysbyrdoliaeth gyfoethog i Gwyn.
The place was a rich source of inspiration for Gwyn.
Roedd Gwyn mewn pennod o ddrwgdybiaeth.
Gwyn was in a chapter of suspicion.
Roedd bob amser yn ystyriol, yn gobeithio rhoi anrheg arbennig i Seren, anrheg a fyddai'n dwyn ei edmygedd am ei ffrind agosaf.
He was always considerate, hoping to give a special gift to Seren, a gift that would earn her admiration for her closest friend.
Ond sylweddolodd pa mor anodd oedd hynny.
But he realized how difficult that was.
Roedd Seren yn berson penderfynol.
Seren was a determined person.
Roedd gwrthgyferchiad rhwng ei pharodrwydd i ddewis a’r teimlad nad oedd byth yn gallu cyfleu ei dymuniadau’n llwyr.
There was a contradiction between her readiness to choose and the feeling that she could never fully convey her wishes.
Wrth fynd drwy siopau, cymerodd Gwyn i asesu dwylo’r orielau llyfrau, ei ochenaid yn ddwfn.
While going through the shops, Gwyn took to assessing the book gallery shelves, his sigh deep.
"Seren," meddai, "Alla i ddim dewis y peth iawn.
"Seren," he said, "I can't choose the right thing.
Mae gen i’r teimlad hwnnw dros y gorau ydych chi.
I have that feeling over the best you are."
"Chwarddodd Seren yn dawel.
Seren laughed quietly.
"Gwyn," meddai hi, "nid yw hynny’n cynhesu fy nghalon imi.
"Gwyn," she said, "that doesn’t warm my heart.
Dwi'n gwerthfawrogi eich ymdrech.
I appreciate your effort."
"Wrth i'r awr fynd heibio, yn sydyn, disgynnodd llyfr bahol trwm ar lawr Gwyn.
As the hour passed, suddenly a heavy bound book fell at Gwyn's feet.
Cododd ef, ei galon yn ysgafnach.
He picked it up, his heart lighter.
Roedd yn llyfr o farddoniaeth gan Dylan Thomas.
It was a book of poetry by Dylan Thomas.
Buodd y bardd hyn yn denu’i feddwl, gwneuthur troad sydyn wrth bendro syniadau am Seren.
The poet had captivated his mind, making a sudden turn while pondering ideas about Seren.
Efallai mai yma oedd y perffaith, meddai wrtho'i hun.
Perhaps this was the perfect, he thought to himself.
Wrth i'r haul ddiflannu tu ôl i niwl a godrodd o Fae Abertawe, cyrhaeddodd Gwyn gyda phwyll gweddus, Seren wrth ei ochr.
As the sun disappeared behind mist rising from Swansea Bay, Gwyn arrived with appropriate discretion, Seren by his side.
Wrth i’r coed chwifio’n rhamantus yn wynt awyreddus, estynnodd Gwyn y llyfr.
As the trees swayed romantically in the airy wind, Gwyn extended the book.
"Dwi’n gobeithio bod hwn yn siarad â chi," meddai'n chwilfrydig wrth roi'r anrheg i Seren.
"I hope this speaks to you," he said curiously while giving the gift to Seren.
Wnaeth Seren agor y llyfr gyda llawes ddofn.
Seren opened the book with a deep sleeve.
Darllenodd y llinellau gyntaf gyda syllu syml a chyfrinachol.
She read the first lines with simple and secretive scrutiny.
O lygaid y tywyll, lam gallai Gwyn weld bod y geiriau hyn yn gafael yn gorff pwysig.
From the dark eyes, Gwyn could see that these words held significant importance.
Daeth côr o wres yn ei llais.
A chorus of warmth came into her voice.
"Gwyn, gwnaethoch ddewis gyda chalon.
"Gwyn, you chose with your heart."
"Gyda hyn, nid yn unig y gwnaeth i Gwyn lwyddo wrth gyflwyno anrheg oedd yn berthnasol, ond hefyd, nid yn llai pwysig, agorodd Seren ei theimladau.
With this, not only did Gwyn succeed in offering a gift that was relevant, but also, and no less importantly, Seren opened up her feelings.
Diflannodd y teimlo o anghenfil rhwng Seren a Gwyn wrth iddyn nhw rannu cau ar y trywydd sydd i ddod.
The feeling of a barrier between Seren and Gwyn vanished as they shared closure on the path to come.
Roedd popeth llawer mwy agored a syml byth yr hydref hwn o gwmpas.
Everything was much more open and simple than ever this autumn around.
Ac felly roedd hanes ni’n cau, nid gyda chlwyf na thristwch, ond gyda dealltwriaeth newydd.
And so our story closes, not with wounds or sadness, but with a new understanding.
Roedd y cymylau trwm o ansicrwydd wedi eu chwalu.
The heavy clouds of uncertainty were dispelled.
Roedd ysgrifau’r bardd wedi cryfhau’r bond rhwng dau gydymaith annwyl wrth law’r hydref mewn man o astudiaethau cariadus.
The writings of the poet had strengthened the bond between two dear companions amid the autumn in a place of loving studies.
