  • Langt inde midt i København, sad Lars og Emilie på Café Floden.

Far into the heart of Copenhagen, Lars and Emilie were sitting at Café Floden.

  • De grinede meget.

    They laughed a lot.

  • Lars havde en idé.

    Lars had an idea.

  • De skulle lege en leg.

    They should play a game.

  • Den der kunne sige det sværeste danske ord, vandt.

The one who could say the most difficult Danish word would win.

  • Lars begyndte.

    Lars started.

  • "Rødgrød med fløde," sagde han hurtigt.

"Rødgrød med fløde," he said quickly.

  • Det var nemt.

    It was easy.

  • Emilie grinede og rystede på hovedet.

Emilie laughed and shook her head.

  • "Det var let," sagde hun.

    "That was easy," she said.

  • Nu var det hendes tur.

    Now it was her turn.

  • "Lusepuster," sagde Emilie og grinede.

    "Lusepuster," Emilie said and laughed.

  • Hun sagde det langsomt og tydeligt.

She said it slowly and clearly.

  • Lars prøvede at sige det.

    Lars tried to say it.

  • Men det lød forkert.

    But it sounded wrong.

  • De grinede begge to.

    They both laughed.

  • Det var sjovt.

    It was funny.

  • "Svesken på disken," sagde Lars så.

"Svesken på disken," Lars said then.

  • Han sagde det lige så hurtigt som før.

He said it just as fast as before.

  • Det lød lidt dumt.

    It sounded a bit silly.

  • Men Emilie forstod ham.

    But Emilie understood him.

  • "Det var sjovt," sagde hun og grinede endnu mere.

"That was funny," she said and laughed even more.

  • Pludselig kom Sofie ind i caféen.

Suddenly Sofie came into the cafe.

  • Hun var Lars' og Emilies gode ven.

She was Lars' and Emilie's good friend.

  • "Hvad laver I," spurgte hun og satte sig ved dem.

"What are you doing," she asked and sat down with them.

  • "Vi siger svære danske ord," sagde Lars.

"We're saying difficult Danish words," Lars said.

  • Sofie grinede.

    Sofie laughed.

  • "Kan jeg være med," spurgte hun.

    "Can I join," she asked.

  • De sagde ja.

    They said yes.

  • "Ministerbilschauffør," sagde Sofie så.

    "Ministerbilschauffør," Sofie said then.

  • Det var et langt ord.

    It was a long word.

  • Lars og Emilie kiggede på hende.

Lars and Emilie looked at her.

  • Det var ikke let.

    It wasn't easy.

  • Men de prøvede at sige det.

But they tried to say it.

  • Det lød mærkeligt.

    It sounded strange.

  • Alle grinede.

    Everyone laughed.

  • Så vendte de tilbage til København.

    Then they returned to Copenhagen.

  • De havde haft det sjovt.

    They had had fun.

  • De havde lært nye, svære ord.

They had learned new difficult words.

  • De havde grinet meget.

    They had laughed a lot.

  • Til sidst sagde Lars, "Rullepølse".

    Finally, Lars said, "Rullepølse."

  • Alle prøvede at sige det.

    Everyone tried to say it.

  • De grinede og græd næsten af grin.

They laughed and almost cried from laughter.

  • Det var en perfekt dag.

    It was a perfect day.

  • Sådan endte det.

    That's how it ended.

  • Alle var glade.

    Everyone was happy.

  • Og de havde fået nogle sjove minder.

And they had some funny memories.

  • Alt var godt.

    Everything was good.

  • Det var alt.

    That was all.
