Tallinna vanalinn säras lume all, kui päikesekiired sillerdama hakkasid.
Tallinna Old Town glistened under the snow as the sun rays began to shimmer.
There was a festive holiday mood in the air, with small Christmas lights set up on every corner street.
Kooli vana saal oli samuti ehitud – suur kuusk seisis nurgas, ehitud punaste ja kuldsete ehetega.
The old school hall was also decorated – a large fir tree stood in the corner, adorned with red and gold ornaments.
Katrin seisis laval ja vaatas peeglite taha.
Katrin stood on the stage and looked behind the mirrors.
She saw a reflection there but wasn't quite sure who it was.
She had always been part of the background, never the center of attention.
Behind the scenes, someone was calling after Liisa, who smiled brightly and waved to everyone.
Liisa, always radiant and confident, stood out both on stage and in life.
But Katrin dreamed that she could also shine one day.
"Kas sa proovid seekord soolot?"
"Are you going to try a solo this time?"
suggested Mihkel as he came to adjust the sound disks on the stage.
Katrin shook her head, but there was a small desire inside her.
Ta soovis seda, kuid kartis sama palju.
She wanted it but feared it just as much.
Kartis vigu ja pettumust.
She feared mistakes and disappointment.
Õhtul, kui hoone hakkas vaiksemaks jääma, kuulis Katrin midagi ootamatut.
In the evening, as the building began to quiet down, Katrin heard something unexpected.
She passed by the dressing rooms when she heard Liisa saying: "Katrin is actually very good.
Ta võiks soolot teha."
She could do a solo."
Katrin stood there, feeling both surprised and delighted.
Järgmisel hommikul otsustas Katrin end proovile panna.
The next morning, Katrin decided to challenge herself.
She went to the directors and said, "I wish to do a solo."
Direktorid noogutasid rahulolevalt, ja Liisa kallistas teda soojalt.
The directors nodded approvingly, and Liisa hugged her warmly.
Viimase proovipäeva õhtul libisesid särasüdamikud lavale.
On the evening of the final rehearsal day, shimmering hearts glided onto the stage.
Katrin seisis laval, silmad pingil istuvate sõprade peal.
Katrin stood on the stage, her eyes on her friends sitting on the benches.
Tuba seisis tervelgelt lume vaikuses, kui Katrin esimene noot kõlas.
The room stood still in the silence of the snow as Katrin's first note resounded.
Like a snowflake in the sky, her voice glided over the hall.
When Katrin finished, there was a momentary silence before applause filled the room.
Her parents and friends smiled at Katrin on the stage.
Her heart fluttered, but joy floated inside her like a little star.
Katrin naeratas, tundes end lõpuks enda nahas mugavalt.
Katrin smiled, finally feeling comfortable in her own skin.
See õhtu oli teistsugune.
That evening was different.
Katrin realized she had always had strong support.
This time she had surpassed herself and found new confidence.
And so, in a small school in the Old Town, one girl let her dreams fly and shine in the Christmas light.
