Kevadine hommik Tallinnas oli külm, kuid õhus oli tunda värskuse lõhna.
The spring morning in Tallinn was cold, but there was a scent of freshness in the air.
Maarja oli just hiljuti Tallinna kolinud.
Maarja had recently moved to Tallinn.
Tal oli raske leida uusi sõpru.
She found it difficult to make new friends.
Kuid täna oli eriline päev.
But today was a special day.
Maarja seisis Tallinna Botaanikaaia ees.
Maarja stood in front of the Tallinna Botaanikaaed (Tallinn Botanic Garden).
Tema süda kloppis veidi närvilisusest.
Her heart was beating a little with nervousness.
She had decided to volunteer at the spring event in the greenhouse.
Maarja felt lonely in the big city, but her neighbor Aino, whom Maarja considered her mentor, had emphasized the importance of connecting with the local community.
"See on sinu võimalus," oli Aino öelnud.
"This is your chance," Aino had said.
Maarja tõmbas sügavalt hinge ja astus üle värava.
Maarja took a deep breath and stepped through the gate.
Aiast tulvas talle vastu lillede lõhn ja pehme linnulaul.
The scent of flowers and the soft song of birds greeted her from the garden.
Kõik see tundus nii kutsuv.
Everything seemed so inviting.
Inimesed askeldasid kasvuhoone juures.
People were bustling around the greenhouse.
Maarja felt relief when she saw that the other volunteers were friendly.
Taavi, who was also a volunteer, smiled warmly at her.
"Tere, mina olen Taavi.
"Hello, I'm Taavi.
Oled sina siin uustulnuk?
Are you new here?"
"Maarja naeratas ettevaatlikult.
Maarja smiled cautiously.
"Tere.
"Hello.
Olen Maarja.
I'm Maarja.
Olen just Tallinna kolinud.
I've just moved to Tallinn."
"Nad hakkasid koos tööle, istutades uusi taimi ja sättides lillepeenraid.
They started working together, planting new plants and arranging flower beds.
Kevadõhk oli jahe, kuid tööd tehes läks neil soe.
The spring air was chilly, but as they worked, they warmed up.
Maarja's fear quietly faded, as Taavi was talkative and kind-hearted.
Nad jagasid lugusid ja naersid, unustades ajanähtuse.
They shared stories and laughed, losing track of time.
Äkitselt hakkas vihma tibutama.
Suddenly, it started to drizzle.
A fine table was covered with young green plants that needed to be covered quickly.
Maarja and Taavi hurried to seek shelter.
"Noh, saame siin kuivaks," naeris Taavi, kui nad võtsid varju suurte lehtede all.
"Well, let's stay dry here," laughed Taavi, as they took cover under the large leaves.
Vihm krabises pehmel lehtkatte peal, luues justkui koduse atmosfääri.
The rain pattered softly on the leaf cover, creating a homely atmosphere.
Maarja puges mantli sisse ja vaatas Taavit.
Maarja snuggled into her coat and looked at Taavi.
"Ma tavaliselt ei tunne end nii mugavalt.
"I usually don't feel this comfortable.
I'm often quiet and afraid that I won't be accepted," admitted Maarja a bit shyly.
Taavi noogutas.
Taavi nodded.
"Ma tean seda tunnet.
"I know that feeling.
I'm also getting used to this city, but I feel that nature and people offer support."
"Vihm jäi järgi ja päike piilus uuesti pilvede vahelt.
The rain stopped, and the sun peeked through the clouds again.
Maarja felt that she had found something special she hadn't even been looking for.
„Saame järgmisel nädalal jälle kokku?
"Shall we meet again next week?"
“ küsis Taavi, pakkudes Maarjale sõpruse algust.
asked Taavi, offering Maarja the start of a friendship.
„Muidugi,“ vastas Maarja rõõmsalt ja kindlameelselt.
"Of course," replied Maarja happily and confidently.
She had taken a big step out of her comfort zone and found that it was worth it.
Päevalõpus Maarja lahkus aiast kergema südamega.
At the end of the day, Maarja left the garden with a lighter heart.
She knew she had not only found new friends but also gained confidence.
Tallinn was slowly becoming her own, and Maarja looked forward excitedly to what else spring would bring.
