  • Tallinna kevad oli käes.

    Spring in Tallinn had arrived.

The sun was peeking through the clouds, and Kaarel and Maarja stood on the rooftop of a high-rise building.

  • "Milline vaade!"

    "What a view!"

  • hüüdis Maarja rõõmsalt.

    exclaimed Maarja cheerfully.

She nodded contentedly as the wind tried to tousle her hair.

Tallinn stretched out before them, its red roofs and modern towers presenting a marvelous sight.

  • Kaarel sättis oma kaamera, valmis pildistama täiuslikku panoraami.

Kaarel adjusted his camera, ready to capture the perfect panorama.

  • Maarja vaatas teda.

    Maarja watched him.

She knew Kaarel wanted to impress her with his pictures.

"Don't worry so much," whispered Maarja, more to herself than to Kaarel.

  • Just siis, kui Kaarel päästikule vajutas, kuulsid nad seljataga klõpsatust.

Just as Kaarel pressed the shutter, they heard a click behind them.

  • Uks katuselt oli kinni prantsatanud.

The door to the roof had slammed shut.

  • Maarja vaatas Kaarelile silmadesse.

Maarja looked Kaarel in the eyes.

  • "Me oleme kinni!"

    "We're locked in!"

  • ütles ta.

    she said.

  • Kaareli süda hakkas kiiremini lööma.

Kaarel's heart started to beat faster.

His phone was left in his bag, far down on another floor.

  • Maarja tõmbas sügavalt hinge.

    Maarja took a deep breath.

  • "Noh, vähemalt on meil vaade," ütles ta rõõmsalt.

"Well, at least we have the view," she said cheerfully.

  • Kaarel muigas tema optimismi peale.

    Kaarel smirked at her optimism.

"Look, I have an idea," said Kaarel, as he took off his camera strap.

  • Ta sõlmis selle lipuks.

He tied it into a flag.

  • Maarja vaatas huviga.

    Maarja watched with interest.

  • "Loodad sa sellega kellegi tähelepanu tõmmata?"

"Are you hoping to get someone's attention with that?"

  • küsis hännelik Maarja.

    she asked playfully.

  • Kaarel astus katuseserva juurde ja lehvitas enda lipukest naaberkõrghoonete poole.

Kaarel stepped to the edge of the roof and waved his little flag toward the neighboring skyscrapers.

  • Just siis kuulsid nad suminat.

Just then, they heard a buzzing sound.

  • Suur valge droon lendas nende poole.

A large white drone was flying toward them.

  • "See püüab meist pilti teha," naeris Maarja.

"It's trying to take a picture of us," laughed Maarja.

  • Droonirežiim jäi nende kohale hõljuma ja tegi kiire pöörde, et neist paremini pilti saada.

The drone hovered above them and made a quick turn to get a better picture of them.

  • "Võibolla, võib keegi meid märgata!"

    "Maybe, someone will notice us!"

  • ütles Kaarel.

    said Kaarel.

  • Maarja istus maha, hingates sügavalt kevadõhku.

Maarja sat down, taking a deep breath of spring air.

  • Tundus, nagu droonirežiimi juht oleks aru saanud.

It seemed like the drone operator understood what was happening.

  • Mõni minut hiljem ilmus katuseseinal kõrgustehnika inimene, hetkeks segaduses, siis naeratas.

A few minutes later, a high-altitude technician appeared at the rooftop door, looking briefly confused, then smiled.

"Hello, I was sent a video that someone is in trouble," he said kindly and opened the door.

As Maarja and Kaarel headed back into the building, Maarja whispered, "See, it was a good idea to sit down and enjoy the view."

  • Kaarel mõtles hetkeks ja puhkes siis naerma.

Kaarel pondered for a moment and then burst out laughing.

  • See päev muutis tema vaadet.

    That day changed his perspective.

  • Pole oluline see ideaalne pilt.

It's not the perfect picture that matters.

  • Oluline on hetke nautida ja kogemustest õppida.

It's important to enjoy the moment and learn from the experiences.

  • Naastes alla, mäletas Kaarel, kuidas päev lõppes.

As he returned downstairs, Kaarel remembered how the day ended.

  • Naerma ajas.

    It made him laugh.

But it was Maarja who first understood that the value of the day was not in the end result, but in the journey there.
