  • I lá álainn Earraigh, bhí beirt cairde, Aoife agus Sean, agus deirfiúr óg Sean, Niamh, ag siúl ar bhruacha na nAillte Móire.

On a beautiful spring day, two friends, Aoife and Sean, and Sean's younger sister, Niamh, were walking on the banks of the Great Fjord.

  • B'áit draíochta é, áit ar féidir leat éisteacht le ceol na dtonn agus an ghaoth ag séideadh go séimh.

It was a magical place, where you could listen to the music of the waves and the gentle breeze blowing.

  • Bhí Aoife an-ghníomhach an lá sin.

Aoife was very lively that day.

  • Bhí sí ag rince timpeall agus ag gáire le gach céim.

She was dancing around and laughing with every step.

  • Bhí Sean agus Niamh ag siúl taobh thiar di, ag tabhairt aire dá chéile.

Sean and Niamh were walking behind her, looking after each other.

  • D'fhéach Aoife siar uirthi anois agus arís, ag déanamh cinnte go raibh siad fós ina diaidh.

Aoife looked back at them now and then, making sure they were still following.

  • Go tobann, chonaic Aoife rud éigin bán ag bogadh amach ó mullach na faide.

Suddenly, Aoife saw something white moving down from the top of the hill.

  • Shíl sí go raibh sé ina Sean ag magadh fúithi, agus é ag dul i bhfolach i measc na faiche.

She thought it was Sean teasing her, hiding among the grass.

  • Ghlac Aoife dánacht leis an scéal, agus chuaigh sí ina dhiaidh, glaoch séimh ina guth.

Aoife accepted the challenge, and went after him, calling softly.

  • "Sean, an bhfuil tú ag dul i bhfolach orm?

"Sean, are you trying to hide from me?

  • Tá a fhios agat nach féidir leat!

    You know you can't!"

  • "Shiúil sí go réidh i dtreo na crutha báine, ag caint go bog, an ghrian ag scaipeadh a cuid gruaige óir.

She walked smoothly towards the buttercup field, speaking softly, the sun spreading its golden rays of her hair.

  • Ach nuair a bhrúigh sí trí thom na féir, ní Sean a bhí ann, ach caora bán clúmhach a bhreathnaigh uirthi le súile iontais.

But when she pushed through the tall grass, it wasn't Sean, but a fluffy white sheep looking at her with curious eyes.

  • D'fhéach Aoife ar an gcaora agus thosaigh sí ag gáire os ard leis an scéal.

Aoife looked at the sheep and started laughing out loud at the situation.

  • "Ó, tá brón orm," ar sí, ag magadh faoina hearráid.

"Oh, I'm sorry," she said, joking about her mistake.

  • Tháinig Niamh agus Sean ina seasamh lena taobh, ag gáire freisin nuair a chonaic siad cad a tharla.

Niamh and Sean came standing to her side, laughing too when they saw what happened.

  • "Ní Sean mise!

    "It's not me, Sean!"

  • " arsa an caora, nó mar sin a shamhlaigh Aoife í ag rá.

said the sheep, or so Aoife imagined it saying.

  • Bhris gáire amach arís eatarthu.

Laughter broke out again between them.

  • Le barr spraoi agus spóirt, thóg na triúr cairde grianghraif leis an gcaora, agus rinne siad cuimhní nach ndéanfaí dearmad orthu go deo.

With lots of fun and laughter, the three friends took pictures with the sheep, creating memories that they would never forget.

  • Ag deireadh an lae, sular fhág siad na hAillte Móire, d'amharc siad ar ais ag an áit inar chaith siad an lá ag iniúchadh agus ag foghlaim faoin tábhacht a bhaineann le bheith slán leat féin, fiú nuair a dhéanann tú botún beag bídeach.

At the end of the day, before leaving the Great Fjord, they looked back at the place where they spent the day exploring and learning about the importance of being true to yourself, even when you make a silly mistake.

  • Shiúil Aoife, Sean, agus Niamh abhaile, a gcroíthe te ó chomhluadar a chéile agus na gáire a rinne siad, agus an scéal faoi Aoife a bhí ag caint le caora in ionad daonna fós ag pléascadh le háthas ina measc.

Aoife, Sean, and Niamh walked home, their hearts warm from each other's company and the laughter they shared, and the story about Aoife talking to a sheep instead of a human still bursting with joy among them.
