  • Tá na gaotha ag séideadh go fíochmhar faoin spéir thuaidh, agus tá séasúr an fhómhair lánfásta i mBaile Átha Cliath.

The winds are blowing fiercely under the northern sky, and the autumn season is in full swing in Baile Átha Cliath (Dublin).

  • Lasmuigh, tá an aimsir clic i Kilmainham Gaol ag scéith mar a siocair de doineanta.

Outside, the weather in Kilmainham Gaol is exacerbated by the tempest.

  • Bíonn sé mar nach bhfuil ann ach uaireanta oíche déanta d’uaigneas agus fuip.

It seems as though there are only night hours made of loneliness and lash.

  • Tá Cian agus Aisling ag stánadh isteach sa dorchadas mór, ag cuir uaigneas agus is cosúil go bhfuil na scéalta ón am atá thart ag oscailt roimh a súile.

Cian and Aisling are staring into the vast darkness, casting off loneliness, and it appears that stories from the past are unfolding before their eyes.

  • "Má tá an teachtaireacht ceilte anseo, caithfimid í a aimsiú," a deir Cian, a shúile ag lonrú le díograis.

"If the message is hidden here, we must find it," says Cian, his eyes glowing with fervor.

  • Tá sé i gceist aige teacht ar rud éigin ní bhfuair duine ar bith roimhe.

He intends to discover something that no one else has before.

  • "Is gá dúinn a bheith cúramach," a deir Aisling go glic, ag cogain píosa d’eagna abhaile chuisle a tuilte ag eagla.

"We must be careful," says Aisling wisely, chewing on a morsel of wisdom, her heart flooded with fear.

  • "Má thagann garda, cad a dhéanfaimid?

"If a guard comes, what will we do?"

  • "Tá an ghaoth ag casadh níos géire, ag baoite ó na fuinneoga iarainn.

The wind is swirling more sharply, baiting from the iron windows.

  • Gan choinne, cliseann an chumhacht.

    Suddenly, the power fails.

  • Tá dorchadas lán anois, amhail gur píosa é den oíche féin.

Now there's complete darkness, as if it were a piece of the night itself.

  • "Ná cás, níl muid caillte," a deir Cian go muiníneach.

"Don't worry, we're not lost," says Cian confidently.

  • Faigheann sé an fón áit áirithe as a phóca agus lasann lampa beag dubh agus dubhghorm.

He retrieves a phone from his pocket and turns on a small black and blue lamp.

  • "Seo, seo an dóigh é.

    "Here, this is the way."

  • "Leis an solas ag stiúradh an bhealaigh, siúlann siad tríd na cillíní.

With the light guiding the way, they walk through the cells.

  • Tá bualadh gaoithe níos troime, scairt na staire clois ag bualadh go géar.

The wind's impact is heavier, the shout of history echoing sharply.

  • D’fhéadfadh siar-sciathán na hailtire a bheith ina nocht go maith i súile éadomhain an tsaoil.

The arch of architecture could be all too evident in the shallow eyes of the world.

  • I gcillín amháin, aimsíonn siad scoilte in ucht an bhalla.

In one cell, they discover a crack in the wall.

  • Tá Cian ag sá suas a lámh agus mothaíonn sé an chlúdach iarainn, roimhe seo gan táille ag baint amach os a chionn.

Cian reaches up and feels the iron cover, previously unnoticed above them.

  • "Seo é," a deir sé le eitilt chroí.

"This is it," he says, heart soaring.

  • Go tobann, lasann lampaí Kilmainham agus clóis sonsa cosúil le hochtarsach lá láidir.

Suddenly, the lamps of Kilmainham flash on, and the courtyard lights up like a powerful day.

  • Lasann an halla réidh le solas úr greenscoth.

The hall fills with fresh greenish light.

  • Tá scáthanna brúite trasna an úrláir mar ludtha dearmadta i ndán mise.

Shadows are cast across the floor like forgotten folds in a poem.

  • Tá caintóireacht in aice, agus iarrthóirí ag tíocht ag béicigh.

There's chanting nearby, and searchers approaching with shouts.

  • Tá an litir ag Cian, iontaise ón seansaol a choinníonn aiseolas ar bhallaí fuara.

Cian has the letter, a relic from the old world that keeps a reflection on cold walls.

  • Ach ar aghaidh dó, tá an garda béasach le meas, agus dea-smaointe atá a thabhairt do stair.

But before him, the guard approaches respectfully, with good intentions for history.

  • "Ní gá scannadh," a deir an garda, a súile ag leathnú idir an beirt.

"No need for panic," the guard says, eyes widening between the two.

  • "Ach am is é am, sul má lasann an bhraistint arís.

"But time is limited before the sensation lights again."

  • "Amach le hiontas, siúlann Cian agus Aisling as.

In surprise, Cian and Aisling walk out.

  • Go mall téann séadchomharthaí an seanshaol díreach le haghaidh a lán uaireanta amach.

Slowly, the monuments of the past world disperse like a mirage for many hours.

  • Labhraíonn Cian leis Aisling, guth lom i leabhar staire.

Cian speaks to Aisling in a low voice in a history book.

  • "Chabhraigh tú liom, a chairde," a deir sé le teann dílseachta.

"You helped me, my friend," he says with deep loyalty.

  • "Is fuair mise rud nár chomhroinn mé roimh.

"I found something I had never shared before."

  • "Gan focal tosaigh, tugann Aisling radharc gliogarnach ar chara.

Without a first word, Aisling gives her friend a gleaming look.

  • "Feicim anois, tógann scéalta níos faide ná teorainneacha," a deir sí, a gcroí sásta, a n-intinn ar aghaidh, céim ar céim i mbua.

"I see now, stories go beyond boundaries," she says, her heart content, her mind moving forward, step by step in triumph.
