In a bustling corner of Jakarta city, there was a small food stall always filled with visitors.

Siti, a cheerful girl, sat with her two friends, Adi and Budi, at the stall to enjoy a delicious lunch.

It's really hot today, isn't it? Siti said as she fanned herself with a menu made of paper.

  • Iya, cuaca Jakarta memang tak bisa ditebak, jawab Budi seraya membuka botol minumnya.

Yeah, Jakarta's weather is always unpredictable, Budi answered as he opened his bottle of drink.

Adi, who was ordering food, suggested, Let's order something spicy so that we can sweat and feel refreshed.

Hearing Adi's idea, Siti felt challenged and chose the spiciest dish on the spicy section of the menu. She didn’t realize that she had just ordered a dish with very spicy chilies.

  • Ketika makanan tiba, mereka bertiga mulai menikmati pesanan mereka.

When the food arrived, the three of them began to enjoy their orders. Without hesitation, Siti took a piece of chili that she thought wasn't too spicy and ate it with a piece of chicken.

  • Wajahnya seketika berubah merah, dan matanya mulai berkaca-kaca. Ahh! Air, air! serunya sambil gelagapan.

Her face instantly turned red, and her eyes began to tear up. Ah! Water, water! she exclaimed in a panic.

Adi and Budi quickly realized Siti's mistake and tried not to laugh. Adi hurried to get a glass of cold water, while Budi grabbed some tissue to help her wipe the sweat off her forehead.

Are you okay, Siti? Adi asked, trying to hold back his laughter.

Siti could only nod as she continued trying to soothe the burning sensation on her tongue. Budi, who couldn't help but laugh, offered a bottle of sweet soy sauce.

They say sweet soy sauce can alleviate spiciness, try this, Budi said.

Still feeling the burn on her tongue, Siti didn't think twice and immediately tried Budi's suggestion. She was surprised when the spiciness slowly subsided.

After a few minutes filled with laughter and joint efforts to cool Siti's tongue, things started to calm down. The three of them then continued their lunch with conversations occasionally interrupted by laughter about the earlier incident.

  • Hahaha, Siti, mukamu tadi merah sekali, seperti tomat! canda Adi.

Hahaha, Siti, your face was so red earlier, like a tomato! teased Adi.

Budi, and you are right, Jakarta is more enjoyable with something spicy, but I've had enough of the spiciness for today, Siti said with a smile as she took a safer drink, sweet iced tea.

Amidst the joy and warmth of their friendship, Siti, Adi, and Budi felt an unforgettable togetherness in the colorful corner of Jakarta city. They knew that moments like these would always be etched in the memories of their never-ending city adventures.
