  • Pagi itu cerah sekali.

    That morning was very bright.

The sun was shining on every corner of the bustling traditional market with sellers and buyers coming and going to find their needs.

  • Budi, seorang pria paruh baya dengan baju kemeja kotak-kotak, tengah asyik memilih-milih sayuran segar untuk masak malam nanti.

Budi, a middle-aged man in a checkered shirt, was busy selecting fresh vegetables to cook for dinner tonight.

While choosing the vegetables, Budi remembered his wife who usually accompanied him to shop but was sick with the flu that day and had to rest at home.

  • Dia ingin sekali membelikan Anita, sang istri, sayur favoritnya untuk membuat sup ayam yang hangat.

He really wanted to buy Anita, his wife, her favorite vegetables to make warm chicken soup.

On the other side of the market, Anita, a young woman who happened to be wearing a similar colored dress to Budi's wife, was negotiating the price of tomatoes with one of the traders.

With her hair braided and a shopping basket on her arm, Anita looked like someone who cared about details.

Santoso, a friendly fruit seller, always observed what was happening in the market.

From a distance, he saw Budi leaving the vegetable stall and walking towards a figure he thought was his wife.

  • "Anita, lihat ini!

    "Anita, look at this!

The spinach is so fresh, it will be delicious for the soup later," exclaimed Budi as he patted the shoulder of Anita, who was not his wife, from behind.

Anita, startled, turned around and saw a stranger who seemed so sure to recognize her.

Budi's face turned red, realizing that the woman in front of him was not Anita, his wife.

  • "Oh, maaf sekali, Saya kira Anda istr.

"Oh, I'm so sorry, I thought you were my wif...uh, no," Budi stammered, trying to maintain a calm expression.

  • eh, bukan," Budi menggagap mencoba memasang wajah tenang.

Anita chuckled at Budi's embarrassed explanation.

  • Anita terkekeh mendengar penjelasan Budi yang tersipu-sipu.

    "It's okay, Sir.

  • "Tidak apa-apa, Pak.

It's really busy this morning, people can make mistakes with faces," said Anita still smiling.

Santoso, who witnessed the incident, couldn't help but laugh.

Loudly, he said, "Mr. Budi, your wife is sick at home with the flu.

If you bring another woman home, you might get scolded!"

The market atmosphere, previously filled with bargaining voices, was now filled with laughter from the sellers and the buyers, who were entertained by the funny incident.

Budi, initially embarrassed, finally joined in the laughter while scratching his head that wasn't itchy.

  • "Iya, benar.

    "Yes, that's right.

Anita at home will definitely laugh out loud hearing this story," said Budi as he recovered from his embarrassment.

After the incident, Budi continued his shopping while occasionally being greeted by other traders with light-hearted jokes.

Anita, who had finished shopping, bid farewell with a friendly smile to Budi.

When they returned home, Budi told everything to Anita, his true wife, who enthusiastically laughed as her husband became the star of the traditional market for a moment.

They laughed together, and that night, Budi's chicken soup felt warmer and more delicious because it was seasoned with the unforgettable laughter and joy from the traditional market.
