Autumn in Tokyo is special.

うえの公園の秋の葉は、赤、オレンジ、黄色に染まります。

The autumn leaves in Ueno Park turn red, orange, and yellow.

たくさんの人が公園に訪れ、紅葉を楽しみます。

Many people visit the park to enjoy the autumn foliage.

その中に、たかしとえみこもいました。

Among them were Takashi and Emiko.

たかしは大学生。

Takashi is a university student.

恥ずかしがり屋です。

He's a shy person.

彼は同じ大学のえみこが好きです。

He likes Emiko, who is at the same university.

えみこは元気で、自信があります。

うえの公園で、たかしとえみこは一緒に散歩します。

「えみこ、話があるんだ」とたかしは言いました。

"Emiko, I have something to tell you," Takashi said.

彼は緊張しながらえみこを見ました。

He looked at Emiko nervously.

「実は、ずっと前から君が好きだったんだ。

"Actually, I've liked you for a long time."

」えみこは少し驚いた表情を見せました。

Emiko showed a slightly surprised expression.

でも、すぐに優しく微笑みました。

「たかしくん、私もずっとあなたに興味があったの。
