雪が舞う冬の日、雪（ゆき）と空（そら）は地域センターに向かって歩いていました。

On a winter day when the snow danced, Yuki and Sora were walking towards the community center.

大学生の雪は環境問題に情熱を持っています。

Yuki, a university student, has a passion for environmental issues.

彼女の隣には、少し冷めた態度をとる従兄の空がいました。

Next to her was her cousin Sora, who had a somewhat indifferent attitude.

彼は「投票なんて無意味だよ、何も変わらない」と繰り返します。

He kept repeating, "Voting is meaningless; nothing changes."

道を歩きながら、雪は語りかけます。

As they walked along the road, Yuki spoke up.

「ねえ、空。昔、皆が立ち上がったことで世の中が変わったことがあるでしょ？」

"Hey, Sora. Remember how the world changed when everyone stood up in the past?"

しかし、空はただ曖昧に笑います。

However, Sora just gave a vague smile.

「でも、それって一部の特別な人たちの話じゃない？」

二人は近くの小さな交差点に来ました。

The two of them arrived at a small intersection nearby.

周りは真っ白な雪で染まっています。

Everywhere was covered in pure white snow.

「痛いほどよくわかるよ、空。私たち一人一人の力が小さいってこと。

雪は語気を強めます。

Yuki spoke with emphasis.

やがて、地域センターが見えてきます。

Eventually, the community center came into view.

玄関には「市民の力で未来を変えよう！」と書かれたポスターが貼られています。

On the entrance was a poster that read, "Change the future with the power of the citizens!"

中に入ると、たくさんの人々が投票用紙に向き合っていました。

Inside, many people were facing their ballots.

雪は深呼吸して出発点に戻ります。

Yuki took a deep breath and returned to the starting point.

「空、一人が行動を起こせば、他の人も影響を受ける。

"Sora, if one person takes action, others will be influenced.

隣の君がそうだよ。

Like you, beside me.

その小さな積み重ねが、やがて大きな波を生むんだよ。」

Those small accumulations eventually create a big wave."

雪がそう言うと、空はしばらく黙っていました。

When Yuki said this, Sora was silent for a while.

その後、彼は小さく頷き、「試してみる価値はあるかもね」と静かに言いました。

Then he nodded slightly and quietly said, "It might be worth trying."

空は投票所に入り、用紙を手に取りました。

Sora entered the voting booth and picked up a ballot.

彼はペンを握りしめ、決意を込めてマークをつけました。

He gripped the pen tightly and marked it with determination.

「変わるかもしれない。

帰り道、雪は嬉しそうに笑いながら、雪で覆われた道を歩きました。

On the way back, Yuki walked along the snow-covered path with a pleased smile.

New snow had piled up in her heart as well, snow named hope for the future.
