夏の夜、三人の幼馴染、遥、海斗、りなが再会した。

On this summer night, three childhood friends, Haruka, Kaito, and Rina, have reunited.

海斗は海外からの帰国で久しぶりの町。

Kaito has returned from overseas, visiting his hometown for the first time in a while.

幼いころの友人たちと月の光に照らされたビーチで再び集まる。

He gathers once again with childhood friends on the beach bathed in moonlight.

りなはいつものように明るく、二人に笑顔を振りまいている。

Rina is her usual bright self, casting smiles at the two.

「夏の祭りはやっぱりいいね」とりなが楽しそうに言う。「ランタンがきれい。」

"Summer festivals are indeed wonderful," Rina says happily. "The lanterns are beautiful."

遥は静かにうなずく。しかし、彼女の心は穏やかではない。

Haruka nods quietly. However, her heart is not at ease.

心の中では、ずっと抱えていた秘密がある。海斗への想いだ。

Inside, she holds a secret she's kept for a long time—her feelings for Kaito.

祭りの音楽が流れる中、三人は浜辺を歩く。

As the festival music plays, the three walk along the shore.

遥の視線はつねに海斗に向けられている。彼は景色を楽しみ、笑顔を見せている。

Haruka can't take her eyes off Kaito. He enjoys the scenery and smiles.

"I have to tell him now," Haruka encourages herself, but the words don't come out.

友達としての関係が壊れるかもしれない恐怖が頭をよぎる。

The fear of possibly ruining their friendship crosses her mind.

夜が更け、灯籠流しの時間が近づく。

As night deepens, the time for the lantern floating draws near.

波音の中、遥は決断をした。月の光が彼女の背中を押す。

Amidst the sound of the waves, Haruka makes a decision. The moonlight pushes her forward.

「海斗、ちょっと話せる？」遥はそれを確信するために自分に言い聞かせ、勇気を出して声をかけた。

"Kaito, can we talk for a bit?" Haruka says, convincing herself to muster the courage to speak up.

海斗は驚いた顔で振り返る。「どうしたの、遥？」

Kaito turns around with a surprised look. "What's up, Haruka?"

灯籠が優しく海に浮かび、その光が二人を包む。

The lanterns gently float on the sea, their light enveloping the two.

遥は大きく息を吸い、心の奥にある言葉を絞り出した。

Haruka takes a deep breath and squeezes out the words deep in her heart.

「ずっと、あなたのことが好きだった。」

"I've always liked you."

一瞬、静寂が二人を包む。蝉の声と、遠くで打ち上がる花火の音だけが響く。

For a moment, silence envelops them both. Only the sound of cicadas and fireworks launching in the distance can be heard.

海斗はじっと遥を見つめ、微笑んで言った。「ありがとう、遥。

Kaito looks intently at Haruka and says with a smile, "Thank you, Haruka.

でも正直、全然気づかなかったよ。でも、これからも一緒にいられるよう、試してみたい。」

Honestly, I had no idea. But I want to try to be together from now on."

遥の心は解放されたように感じた。勇気を出してよかった。

Haruka feels as if her heart has been freed. She was glad she mustered the courage.
