눈 덮인 설악산이 가까이 보이는 이곳은 겨울이 깊어질수록 더욱 분주해진다.

This place, where you can see the snow-covered Seoraksan up close, becomes even busier as winter deepens.

지호는 이 병원의 간호사다.

Jiho is a nurse at this hospital.

그는 한때 등산가였고, 겨울의 혹독함을 잘 이해한다.

He was once a mountaineer and understands well the harshness of winter.

그 날도 그는 다친 환자들을 돌보고 있었다.

That day, too, he was taking care of injured patients.

지호는 병실에 들어갔다.

Jiho entered the hospital room.

그곳에는 소연이라는 젊은 등산객이 누워 있었다.

There, a young hiker named Soyeon was lying down.

그녀는 등산을 하다가 다리를 심하게 다쳤다.

She had injured her leg badly while climbing.

설악산을 다시 오르려면 빨리 회복해야 했다.

To climb Seoraksan again, she needed to recover quickly.

하지만 지호는 걱정이 많았다.

However, Jiho was very worried.

"소연 씨, 너무 서두르지 마세요. 천천히 회복하는 게 중요해요," 지호는 말했다.

"Ms. Soyeon, don't rush too much. It's important to recover slowly," Jiho said.

소연은 답답했다.

"하지만 설악산 등반 계획이 있어요. 빨리 나아야 해요," 그녀는 간절히 말했다.

지호는 그만의 방법으로 그녀를 진정시키려 했다.

Jiho tried to calm her in his own way.

"제가 예전에 등산할 때의 이야기 해드릴게요," 지호가 말했다.

"때로는 기다리는 것도 필요해요.

"Sometimes waiting is necessary.

제가 설악산을 처음 올랐을 때, 날씨가 너무 나빠서 정상 바로 아래서 돌아서야 했거든요.

The first time I climbed Seoraksan, the weather was so bad that I had to turn back just before the peak.

그때 배운 건, 자연을 존중해야 한다는 거였어요."

소연은 지호의 이야기에 귀를 기울였다.

Soyeon listened intently to Jiho's story.

하지만 그녀의 마음은 여전히 조급했다.

그러던 중, 날씨가 심상치 않았다.

Meanwhile, the weather was becoming unusual.

밖은 눈보라가 몰아치기 시작했다.

Outside, a snowstorm began to rage.

소연은 잠깐의 틈을 타 병원을 나가려 했지만, 거친 눈보라가 그녀를 막아섰다.

Soyeon tried to take a brief chance to leave the hospital, but the fierce snowstorm stopped her.

그 순간, 소연은 깨달았다.

"병원에 있는 게 제일 안전하네요," 그녀는 혼잣말처럼 중얼거렸다.

"Being in the hospital is the safest," she muttered to herself.

설날이 다가오고 있었다.

Seollal, the Lunar New Year, was approaching.

병원 안에서는 작지만 따뜻한 설날 준비가 시작됐다.

Inside the hospital, small but warm preparations for Seollal began.

지호와 소연은 함께 떡국을 만들었다.

Jiho and Soyeon made tteokguk together.

소연은 차차 회복했다.

Soyeon gradually recovered.

그녀의 마음도 조금씩 안정됐다.

지호는 말했다. "소연 씨, 잘 결정을 하신 거예요.

우리 건강은 자연의 일부니까요."

소연은 살며시 미소 지으며 답했다. "네, 지호 씨 덕분이에요.

그렇게 지호와 소연은 눈보라 속에서도 따뜻한 설날을 맞이했다.
