Rūta wanted to take a boat trip around the castle, but Eglė pressed her palm to remind Rūta of the importance of the field trip.

„Mindaugai, papasakok istoriją,“ - liepė Eglė, žvelgdama mokytojui į akis.

"Mindaugas, tell the story," Eglė commanded, looking the teacher in the eye.

Mokytojas nustebo.

The teacher was surprised.

„Na, gerai...“ jis atsitiesė ir rūpesčiai tarsi dingo, kai pradėjo pasakoti.

"Well, alright..." he straightened up, and his worries seemed to disappear as he began to narrate.

Pilies menėje Mindaugas en fanatiškai vaizdavo praeitį.

In the castle's hall, Mindaugas vividly portrayed the past.

Jis kalbėjo apie kunigaikščius, jų mūšius ir kasdienį gyvenimą.

He spoke of dukes, their battles, and daily life.

Jo balsas sodriai aidėjo.

His voice resonated richly.

Mokiniai, netgi Rūta, klausėsi susižavėję.

The students, even Rūta, listened with fascination.

Eglė šypsojosi matydama, kaip žodžiai atgaivina mokytoją.

Kai saulė leidosi už pilies vartų, Mindaugas stovėjo šalia Eglės.

As the sun set behind the castle gates, Mindaugas stood next to Eglė.

„Ačiū tau,“ tarė jis.

"Thank you," he said.

„Tu man priminei, kodėl aš mokau.“

"You reminded me why I teach."

Ir taip, ką Mindaugas galvojo apie išvykimą, tapo mažiau akivaizdu.

And so, what Mindaugas thought about the trip became less obvious.

Jis jautė, kad jo vieta vis dar gali būti čia, su šiais smalsiais vaikais.

He felt that his place could still be here, with these curious kids.

Moksleiviai grįžo namo pavargę, bet laimingi.

The students returned home tired but happy.

Eglė grįžo su nauja drąsa ir tvirtesniu ryšiu su draugais.

Eglė returned with newfound courage and a stronger bond with her friends.

O Trakų pilis, kaip visad, saugojo dar daug istorijų tiems, kurie norės jų klausyti.

And the Trakai castle, as always, held many more stories for those who would want to listen.
