One early morning, while the sun was still asleep, Ole and Ingrid woke up to the first snow in the mountains.

They lived in a small wooden house in the mountains, a short walk from the cozy sauna they loved.

  • "Ingrid, se!

    "Ingrid, look!"

  • " utbrøt Ole mens han pekte ut vinduet.

exclaimed Ole as he pointed out the window.

He bundled himself up in a big coat and put on his boots.

Ingrid followed suit, wrapping herself in a thick wool sweater and hat.

They trampled through the fresh snow, holding their breath in the sharp, cold air.

Still in their pajamas, they made their way to the sauna, now warmed up for the day.

"Imagine how wonderful it will be to go to the sauna in this cold weather," said Ole, his eyes sparkling with excitement.

Ingrid nodded, the thought of the warm sauna against the icy cold sounded amazing.

  • I badstuen var det drømmende varmt.

Inside the sauna, it was dreamily warm.

Snowflakes melted on the roof, trickled down and turned into steam on the sauna wall.

Everything seemed perfect, if not a little too perfect.

  • Ole hadde en komisk tanke.

    Ole had a comical thought.

He quickly turned, ran out into the snow, and came back with a big, round snowball in his hands.

  • Ingrids øyne vokste store.

    Ingrid's eyes grew wide.

  • "Hva skal du med den?

"What are you going to do with that?"

  • " spurte hun, og ristet på hodet.

    she asked, shaking her head.

"Oh, nothing, just a little surprise," replied Ole with a mischievous smile.

He threw the snowball at the wall, but it veered off course.

  • Snøballen sprutet ut og traff Ingrid.

The snowball burst and hit Ingrid.

She jumped and let out a surprised scream.

The snow instantly melted, and Ingrid looked as though she had just jumped into an icy cold pool.

  • Oles øyne bugnet.

    Ole's eyes bulged.

  • Han hadde ikke ment å treffe Ingrid.

He hadn't meant to hit Ingrid.

He burst into laughter, while Ingrid stared at him, wet and cold.

  • "Ole!

    "Ole!"

she shouted, but couldn't help laughing herself.

The rest of the morning was spent fooling around.

They threw more snow at each other, laughed until they cried, and warmed up in the sauna again.

Finally, after many hours of playing and laughter, they went home.

They were cold, but their hearts were warm.

They knew they would never forget this day.

And so, Ole learned an important lesson: Don't throw snowballs in the sauna.

  • Med mindre du vil ha en snøballkrig!

Unless you want to have a snowball fight!

Before bedtime, you can still hear Ole and Ingrid, laughing as they cuddle close to each other under the thick duvet in their cozy mountain cabin.

And as the sun rose, they knew that today would be another fantastic day in the mountains.

The story of Ole and Ingrid in the sauna became a topic of conversation on the mountain, a story that ended with a big smile and a happy conclusion.

No matter how cold it was outside, they always found a way to warm each other's hearts.

  • Akkurat slik det skal være.

    Just as it should be.
