"Son," my father began, "we didn't know you were listening."

"Eu só quero que tudo volte ao normal," disse, quase com lágrimas nos olhos.

"I just want everything to go back to normal," I said, almost with tears in my eyes.

Meu pai respirou fundo e olhou para minha mãe.

My father took a deep breath and looked at my mother.

"Talvez devêssemos tentar outra coisa.

"Maybe we should try something else.

Quem sabe falar com alguém?"

Perhaps talk to someone?"

Minha mãe assentiu.

My mother nodded.

"Sim, talvez terapia de casal," ela sugeriu.

"Yes, maybe couples therapy," she suggested.

Eles prometeram tentar.

They promised to try.
