Bratislavské jesenné ráno voňalo po spadnutej lístí a studenom vetre.
The autumn morning in Bratislava smelled of fallen leaves and a cold wind.
Park bol pokrytý farebnou dekou z červenej, oranžovej a žltej.
The park was covered with a colorful blanket of red, orange, and yellow.
Na ceste chodili ľudia, ktorí venčili svojich psov, smiali sa alebo sedeli na lavičkách a pozorovali svet.
On the path, there were people walking their dogs, laughing, or sitting on benches watching the world.
V tom parku bol Marek.
In that park was Marek.
Jeho pes, Hugo, tasil vodítko a Marek ticho kráčal popri ňom.
His dog, Hugo, pulled on the leash, and Marek walked quietly beside him.
Nedávno sa presťahoval do Bratislavy.
He had recently moved to Bratislava.
Cítil sa trochu sám.
He felt a bit lonely.
Na druhej strane parku šla Elena so svojou fenou Lízou.
On the other side of the park, Elena was walking with her dog Líza.
Elena milovala príbehy ľudí, s ktorými sa stretávala.
Elena loved the stories of the people she met.
No vo svojom srdci nosila samotársku trpkosť, ktorú sa rozhodla neukázať.
But in her heart, she carried a solitary bitterness she chose not to show.
Dnes sa usmievala na každého okoloidúceho.
Today she smiled at everyone passing by.
Lenže keď sa pohľad Eleny a Mareka stretli, cítila niečo zvláštne.
But when Elena and Marek's eyes met, she felt something peculiar.
Hugo a Líza sa začali hrať.
Hugo and Líza started to play.
Marek a Elena sa zastavili.
Marek and Elena stopped.
"Máme podobných psov," povedal Marek s plachým úsmevom.
"We have similar dogs," said Marek with a shy smile.
Elena sa zasmiala: "Áno, tí dvaja vyzerajú, že si rozumejú.
Elena laughed, "Yes, those two seem to understand each other."
" Rozhovor medzi nimi sa začal nevinne, cez psy a prírodu.
The conversation between them started innocently, through dogs and nature.
Marek bol nervózny, ale rozhodnutý.
Marek was nervous, but determined.
Elena sa úprimne zaujímala.
Elena was genuinely interested.
"Som grafik," povedal Marek, prelamujúc bariéru nevysloveného.
"I'm a graphic designer," said Marek, breaking the barrier of unspoken words.
"Považujem prírodu za dobrý zdroj inšpirácie.
"I find nature a good source of inspiration."
" Elena prikývla.
Elena nodded.
"Som novinárka," odpovedala, trochu sa otvárajúc.
"I'm a journalist," she replied, opening up a little.
"Rada zachytávam príbehy ľudí.
"I love capturing people's stories."
" S každým ďalším dňom, keď sa stretávali, sa zblížili stále viac.
With each passing day they met, they grew closer.
Poďme sa posadiť na lavičku, navrhla jedného dňa Elena.
"Let's sit on a bench," Elena suggested one day.
Na piaty deň ich spoločného venčenia psov nastala neočakávaná jesenná búrka.
On the fifth day of their shared dog walking, an unexpected autumn storm arose.
Zatieňovalo sa a začalo pršať.
It grew dark and began to rain.
Schovali sa pod starý buk.
They took shelter under an old beech tree.
"To je šťastie!
"What luck!"
" smiala sa Elena, bezradne pokrývajúc hlavu vetrovkou.
laughed Elena, helplessly covering her head with her jacket.
Marek po jej boku trochu rozmrzel.
Marek by her side looked a bit grumpy.
"Vieš," začal Marek, "nikdy som nebol veľmi odvážny.
"You know," Marek began, "I've never been very brave.
Ale chcem byť.
But I want to be."
" Elena sa niečomu vo svojom vnútri zasmiala.
Elena laughed at something inside herself.
"Niekedy je najťažšie priznať si, čo skutočne cítime," povedala jemne.
"Sometimes the hardest thing is admitting what we truly feel," she said gently.
"Aj ja mám svoj strach.
"I have my fears too."
"Marek sa usmial.
Marek smiled.
Bolo to akoby búrka zvonku a búrka v nich konečne ustali.
It was as if the storm outside and the storm within them finally abated.
Déšť pomaly prestal.
The rain slowly stopped.
Spoločne kráčali k východu z parku.
Together, they walked towards the park's exit.
"Dáme si čoskoro kávu?
"Shall we have coffee soon?"
" navrhol Marek opatrne.
Marek suggested cautiously.
Elena nadšene prikývla.
Elena nodded enthusiastically.
"Nemôžem sa dočkať.
"I can't wait."
"Keď si vymenili čísla, cítili obaja niečo nové.
When they exchanged numbers, they both felt something new.
Bola to nádej a začiatok niečoho krásneho.
It was hope and the beginning of something beautiful.
Jesenné listy pod ich nohami šumeli ako tichý súhlas.
The autumn leaves under their feet rustled like a quiet agreement.
A v tej chvíli sa všetko zdalo možné.
And at that moment, everything seemed possible.
