Marek kráča ruka v ruke s kamarátkou Petrou.

Marek walks hand in hand with his friend Petra.

„Musím nájsť skvelý darček pre moju sestru,“ hovorí Marek.

"I need to find a great gift for my sister," Marek says.

„Chcem niečo špeciálne, aby vedela, aká je pre mňa dôležitá.“

"I want something special so she knows how important she is to me."

Petra sa uchechtne.

Petra chuckles.

„Veľa šťastia, Marek. Pozri, tu ponúkajú krásne handmade ozdoby.“

"Good luck, Marek. Look, they offer beautiful handmade ornaments here."

Marek však už nie je pri Petre.

However, Marek is no longer next to Petra.

Jeho pozornosť upútala ozvena hlasného oznamu.

His attention is caught by the echo of a loud announcement.

„Prihláste sa do našej vianočnej súťaže pečenia! Výhra je špeciálna vianočná odmena!“

"Sign up for our Christmas baking contest! The prize is a special Christmas reward!"

V davu a pod vplyvom svojho entuziazmu sa Marek rýchlo podpisuje na papier.

In the crowd and spurred by his enthusiasm, Marek quickly signs on paper.

„Prihlásil som nás!“ vyhlási vzrušene.

"I've signed us up!" he declares excitedly.

Petra žmurkne s prekvapením.

Petra blinks in surprise.

„Nás? Marek, my ani nevieme piecť!“

"Us? Marek, we don't even know how to bake!"

„Ach, bude to zábava!“ odpovie Marek optimisticky.

"Oh, it'll be fun!" Marek replies optimistically.

„A možno vyhráme niečo úžasné.“

"And maybe we'll win something amazing."

Pri pečení vzniká chaos.

While baking, chaos ensues.

Marek ani nevie, z ktorej strany sa drží vareška, a Petra je posypaná múkou od hlavy po päty.

Marek doesn't even know which way to hold the whisk, and Petra is covered in flour from head to toe.

Ich koláč vyzerá... nuž, povedzme, kreatívne.

Their cake looks... well, let's say, creative.

„A teraz pre vyhlásenie víťaza našej súťaže pečenia,“ ohlasuje moderátor.

"And now for the announcement of the winner of our baking contest," the announcer proclaims.

„Špeciálna kategória: najzábavnejší pokus. Vyhrávajú Marek a Petra!“

"Special category: most amusing attempt. Marek and Petra win!"

Dav sa smeje a Marek sa klania s úsmevom.

The crowd laughs, and Marek bows with a smile.

Petra len sklopí oči a pokrčí plecami.

Petra just lowers her eyes and shrugs.

Po súťaži Marek objaví malý stánok s ručne vyrobenými ozdobami.

After the contest, Marek discovers a small stall with handmade ornaments.

Je tam nádherná ozdoba v tvare srdca s rytinou: Rodina je všetko.

There's a beautiful heart-shaped ornament with the engraving: Family is everything.

„Toto je perfektné,“ povie Marek a kúpi ozdobu.

"This is perfect," Marek says and buys the ornament.

Pri spiatočnej ceste Marek drží ozdobu pevne.

On the way back, Marek holds the ornament tightly.

Uvedomuje si, že nevšednosť daru nie je v jeho cene.

He realizes that the uniqueness of the gift isn't in its price.

Skutočná hodnota je v prejavení starostlivosti a lásky.

The true value is in showing care and love.

Petra sa na neho usmieva.

Petra smiles at him.

„Marek, povedal si, že chceš niečo zvláštne.

"Marek, you said you wanted something special.

Myslím, že to sa ti podarilo.“

I think you succeeded."

Marek prikývne.

Marek nods.

Vie, že jeho sestra bude nadšená.

He knows his sister will be thrilled.
