In the high mountains of the Карпатського National Park, autumn had unfurled its multicolored canvas.

Дерева сяяли червоними і золотими барвами, а гори пливли в легкому осінньому серпанку.

The trees shone with red and golden hues, while the mountains flowed in a light autumn mist.

Серед цієї краси, біля невеликого багаття, розташувалася родина.

Amidst this beauty, near a small campfire, sat a family.

Батько, Михайло, захоплено розповідав про рослинний світ цього краю, мати Катерина обережно підсмажувала бутерброди, а син Олег відсторонено дивився вдалечінь.

The father, Mykhailo, was passionately talking about the plant world of this region, the mother Kateryna was carefully toasting sandwiches, and the son Oleh stared distantly into the horizon.

Олег, підліток, відчував себе від чужим на цьому сімейному відпочинку.

Oleh, a teenager, felt like a stranger on this family outing.

Він прагнув незалежності, а не нудних настанов батьків.

He longed for independence, not the boring lectures of his parents.

Катерина, втім, була сповнена рішучості повернути втрачену близькість з сином, а Михайло вірив, що природа допоможе єднанню їхньої родини.

Катерина, however, was determined to restore the lost closeness with their son, while Mykhailo believed that nature would aid in bringing their family together.

Олег піднявся з місця.

Oleh got up.

"Я прогуляюся," – коротко кинув і рушив у напрямку гір, не чекаючи згоди дорослих.

"I'm going for a walk," he said briefly and set off toward the mountains without waiting for the adults' approval.

"Тільки не далеко, добре?

"Just not too far, okay?"

" – стривожено попросила Катерина, але її слова вилетіли в порожнечу.

Kateryna asked anxiously, but her words vanished into emptiness.

Михайло проказав: "Лишай, нехай сам дізнається про красу природи.

Mykhailo mumbled, "Let him, he should discover the beauty of nature on his own."

" Та все ж, хвилювання матері було очевидним.

Yet, the mother’s concern was transparent.

За хвилями дерев, Олег насолоджувався тишею.

Beyond the tree lines, Oleh enjoyed the silence.

Йому подобалося бути самотнім.

He liked being alone.

Однак, коли небо неодмінно погустіло темними хмарами, хлопець вирішив повернутися, та вже був дезорієнтований серед схожих дерев.

However, when the sky inevitably thickened with dark clouds, the boy decided to return but was already disoriented among the similar trees.

Почався дощ.

Rain began to fall.

Олег зрозумів, що загубився.

Oleh realized he was lost.

У таборі обстановка змінилась.

Back at the camp, the atmosphere had changed.

Катерина почувалася розпачливо і водночас впевнено що діяти потрібно негайно.

Kateryna felt desperate yet resolute that immediate action was needed.

Михайло взяв ліхтарик і вони пішли шукати сина, закликаючи його до себе.

Mykhailo grabbed a flashlight, and they set out to search for their son, calling out to him.

Крики лунали серед дерев, та відповідей не було.

Cries echoed among the trees, but there were no responses.

Здавалося, що гори сховали юнака.

It seemed the mountains had concealed the young man.

Серце матері калатало швидко, як голос лунав у вітрі.

The mother’s heart pounded rapidly, her voice mingling with the wind.

Та обидва розуміли - їх біль міцніше з’єднує.

Still, both understood that their pain bonded them stronger.

Олег, продовжуючи блукати, врешті-решт почув виразне "Олеже!

Oleh, continuing to wander, eventually heard a distinct "Oleh!"

" Заспокоюючись, він направився на звук.

Calming his nerves, he headed toward the sound.

Незабаром його знайшли мокрого і змерзлого, але в безпеці.

Soon, they found him wet and cold, but safe.

Родина, переповнена емоціями, обійнялася.

The family, overwhelmed with emotion, embraced.

Тієї ночі, навколо багаття, в сім'ї відбулася розмова.

That night, around the campfire, the family had a conversation.

Вони говорили про свої почуття, про страхи і прагнення.

They talked about their feelings, fears, and aspirations.

Катерина і Михайло зрозуміли, що Олег потребує більше свободи і підтримки у своїх прагненнях.

Kateryna and Mykhailo realized that Oleh needed more freedom and support in his endeavors.

Олег, своєю чергою, побачив, як важливо іноді покладатися на родину.

Oleh, in turn, saw how important it is to sometimes rely on family.

На ранок, коли сонце забарвило вершини гір у рожевий колір, родина відчула нову гармонію.

By morning, when the sun painted the mountain peaks pink, the family felt a new harmony.
