Oksana is a teacher at this school.

Вона переїхала з України декілька років тому.

She moved from Ukraine a few years ago.

Оксана любить навчати дітей, відкривати для них новий світ.

Oksana loves teaching children, opening up a new world for them.

Вона хоче, щоб вони цінували культуру своїх предків.

She wants them to appreciate the culture of their ancestors.

Але іноді їй важко зрозуміти традиції, які не є її рідними.

But sometimes she finds it difficult to understand traditions that are not her own.

Оксана вирішила запросити до класу індігенного старійшину.

Oksana decided to invite an indigenous elder to the class.

На її запрошення прийшов Річард — поважний старійшина громади.

In response to her invitation, Richard, a respected community elder, came.

Він говорив про важливість традицій, про їх зв’язок з землею і небом.

He spoke about the importance of traditions, about their connection to the land and sky.

Тараса заворожили його слова.

Taras was captivated by his words.

Тарас почав активно готувати свою презентацію.

Але Оксана його підтримувала, підбадьорювала, допомагала виправляти помилки.

Нарешті настав день свята.

Finally, the day of the celebration arrived.

Студенти зібралися в залі.

Students gathered in the hall.

Стіни прикрашені малюнками, на столах індігенні вироби і кулінарні страви.

The walls were decorated with drawings, and on the tables were indigenous crafts and culinary dishes.

Настала черга Тараса.

It was Taras's turn.

Він вийшов на сцену, трохи стривожений, але впевнений.

He stepped onto the stage, a bit anxious but confident.

Тарас розпочав свій виступ з історії своїх предків.

Taras started his presentation with the history of his ancestors.

Він розказав про їх міграцію, про їх сподівання й боротьбу.

He spoke about their migration, their hopes, and struggles.

Його слова були прості, але наповнені щирістю.

His words were simple, but filled with sincerity.

Аудиторія слухала уважно, а Річард, сидячи в кутку, вдячно усміхався.

The audience listened attentively, and Richard, sitting in the corner, smiled gratefully.

Після виступу Оксана підійшла до Тараса і похвалила його.

After the presentation, Oksana approached Taras and praised him.

Хлопець відчув, як в грудях розійшлося тепло.

That day they realized that stories, traditions, and histories are worth preserving and passing on.

І осінь в індігенній школі стала ще яскравішою від їхніх нових знань.

And autumn in the indigenous school became even brighter with their new knowledge.
