In the heart of old Lviv, when summer is hot and joyful, the city comes alive with a colorful market—the Medieval Festival.

Сьогодні саме такий день.

Вулицями гуляють лицарі в блискучих обладунках.

Knights in shining armor stroll the streets.

Скрізь чути дзвінкий сміх і музика волинки.

The air is filled with ringing laughter and the sound of bagpipe music.

Запахи смаженого м’яса та солодощів наповнюють повітря.

The scents of roasted meat and sweets fill the air.

На площі стоять яскраві намети, привертаючи до себе цікавих відвідувачів.

Bright tents stand in the square, attracting curious visitors.

Серед них ідуть троє друзів: Оксана, Юрій і Микола.

Among them walk three friends: Oksana, Yuriy, and Mykola.

Оксана, студентка історії, завжди мріяла потрапити на цей фестиваль.

Oksana, a history student, always dreamed of attending this festival.

Вона з дитинства любить читати книги про лицарів.

From childhood, she has loved reading books about knights.

Але якщо хтось запитає її про пригоди вголос, вона червоніє і губиться.

But if someone asks her about adventures out loud, she blushes and gets lost.

Поряд з нею Юрій, веселий хлопець, який любить жарти.

Next to her is Yuriy, a cheerful guy who loves jokes.

Він часто запускає у світ незаплановані історії.

He often unleashes unplanned stories into the world.

І Микола, натомість, обережний і передбачливий, намагається запобігти всім небезпекам, які створює його друг.

And Mykola, on the other hand, is cautious and prudent, trying to prevent all the dangers his friend creates.

Під час прогулянки юрба дивним чином починає виштовхувати їх убік, ближче до сцени.

During their walk, the crowd strangely starts pushing them sideways, closer to the stage.

Раптом Юрій, із звичним йому завзяттям, зупиняється біля величезного намету.

Suddenly, Yuriy, with his usual enthusiasm, stops by a huge tent.

"Хлопці, подивіться!

"Guys, look!

Там справжні лицарські обладунки!

There are real knight's armors there!"

", – вигукує він.

he exclaims.

Оксана із заблиском в очах уважно розглядає шоломи і мечі.

Oksana eyes the helmets and swords carefully with a gleam in her eyes.

Микола, трохи занепокоєний, вдивляється в табличку: "Тільки учасники".

Mykola, a bit worried, peers at the sign: "Participants only."

І тут з нічого, Юрій вже примудрився натягти на себе півлицарський шолом.

And out of nowhere, Yuriy has already managed to put on half a knight's helmet.

Оксана, не встигши зупинити його, бачить, як на них починає звертати увагу людина у формі.

Oksana, not having time to stop him, sees how a person in uniform begins to pay attention to them.

“Ви наші нові учасники?

"Are you our new participants?!"

” – каже сторож.

says the guard.

Перш ніж хтось встигає заперечити, їх виводять до сцени.

Before anyone can deny it, they are led to the stage.

Оксана хоче провалитися крізь землю, але потім збирає усю волю.

Oksana wants to sink into the ground, but then gathers all her will.

Повільно, обережно, вона намагається вигадати, як вийти з цієї ситуації.

Slowly, cautiously, she tries to figure out how to get out of this situation.

У голові виникає ідея: “Ми можемо влаштувати фарсовий лицарський турнір!

An idea emerges in her mind: "We can stage a mock knight's tournament!"

”Юрій сміється, бо жарт йому до вподоби.

Yuriy laughs because he likes the joke.

Микола хвилюється, але вже нічого не лишається, як приєднатися.

Mykola is worried, but there is nothing left but to join in.

Всі троє швидко одягаються у надані костюми.

All three of them quickly dress in the provided costumes.

І вони починають свій смішний спектакль.

And they start their funny performance.

Оксана виступає як розповідач.

Oksana acts as the narrator.

Юрій і Микола, у своїх чудних обладунках, насамперед смішно гуляють по сцені.

Yuriy and Mykola, in their amusing armor, first humorously stroll around the stage.

Вони відтворюють старі легенди з гумором, додаючи свої дотепи.

They recreate old legends with humor, adding their own witticisms.

Зал вибухає сміхом і аплодисментами.

The audience erupts with laughter and applause.

Закінчивши виступ, вони скланяються під бурхливі оплески.

After completing their performance, they bow under the storm of applause.

В цей час на сцену нарешті виходять справжні лицарі, і друзі швидко зникають, усміхаючись та обіймаючись.

At this time, real knights finally take the stage, and the friends quickly disappear, smiling and hugging.

Любов Оксани до історії врятувала їх від незручності.

Oksana's love for history saved them from the awkward situation.

Її сміливість подарувала всім чудовий спогад.

Her bravery provided everyone with a wonderful memory.

Вона усвідомлює, що іноді краще зіштовхуватись зі своїми страхами, ніж ховатися від них.

She realizes that sometimes it's better to face your fears than to hide from them.

Іноді, непередбачуваність може подарувати радість.

День завершується.

The day comes to an end.

Сонце починає ховатися за горизонтом.

The sun begins to hide behind the horizon.

Друзі ідуть додому, щасливі від своїх пригод.

The friends head home, happy with their adventures.

І тепер, коли Оксана знову побачить обладунки або почує легенду, вона згадуватиме цей день з теплом у серці.

And now, whenever Oksana sees armor or hears a legend again, she will remember this day warmly in her heart.
