The bright sun gently warmed the streets of Kyiv, as the school set off on a trip to the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra.

Autumn leaves softly rustled underfoot, and the column of schoolchildren walked along the narrow paths of the ancient monastery.

At the front, proudly and curiously looking around, was Oksana.

She was always fascinated by the history of these places.

    Behind Oksana walked Bohdan.

He didn’t take his eyes off his phone, occasionally tossing jokes to his friends.

He was more interested in technology updates than the old walls of the monastery.

The guide stopped in front of the golden domes, telling about the saints and great princes who once prayed here.

Oksana listened intently to every word.

She wanted to know everything about this place where every stone holds a secret.

    But Bohdan kept distracting her.

He whispered jokes and showed funny videos.

"Bohdan, please stop! I want to listen," Oksana finally couldn’t take it anymore.

"Oksano, it's just an old monastery. What's so interesting about it?" asked Bohdan, shrugging his shoulders.

By chance, they stumbled upon a hidden chapel.

It was small but filled with the amazing light penetrating through the old stained glass.

It was quiet here, only a light breeze whispered under the arches.

"What is this?" asked Bohdan, looking around in awe.

The beauty and tranquility here surprised him.

Oksana began to tell the story of a monk who lived here many centuries ago.

Bohdan fell silent and listened carefully.

As they returned, they both stayed quiet.

Only when the trip ended, Bohdan said, "Oksano, I'm sorry. I behaved badly. This trip was important, and now I understand that."

Oksana smiled, feeling confident for standing her ground.

They both looked at the magnificent domes of the Lavra together, feeling proud of their history.

Their interest in the past now united them, and it was the beginning of a new friendship.

And on this autumn day, the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra united two children with its eternal spirit.
