On a sunny day, the clear sky was bathed in a delicate golden sunlight. In the fast-paced city of Beijing, people flowed like silky noodles through the bustling streets and alleys, weaving together a complex and wonderful daily life. In a narrow alley deep in old Beijing's Xicheng district, nestled among the blue bricks and red tiles, there was a traditional dumpling restaurant. A sign hung high at the entrance, with four elegant characters that read "Lai Wei Dumpling Restaurant." The font looked dignified, showing its age. The owners of the dumpling restaurant were three friends: Li Wei, Chen Wei, and Wang Wei. They were all locals of Beijing, and people affectionately referred to them as the "Three Wei."

In the summer of 1990, during this sunny season, a unexpected comedy unfolded. On that afternoon, Li Wei sat behind the wooden counter, using the touch screen of his computer to input the orders for the kitchen. Most of the customers were regulars, and their care for the dumpling restaurant and the classic pork and chive dumplings had become deeply ingrained in their daily lives.

Lost in his own world, Li Wei slid his finger across the computer screen, clicking here and there. In a short while, he quickly prepared the ordered menu items. Usually, his skillful operation made this process smooth, but on that day, he made a mistake.

A new customer had just arrived, and after studying the menu, he told Li Wei that he wanted to order 10 dumplings. However, due to the hot and bustling atmosphere in the kitchen and a feeling of unstoppable fatigue, Li Wei's mind became a bit confused. His fingers accidentally pressed the "0" key one more time, and then he pressed the confirmation key. As usual, without double-checking, he handed the order slip to Chen Wei.

Chen Wei stared at the order slip in his hand in astonishment, "100 dumplings?" he exclaimed, as if the slip in his hand was an evil spirit. Wang Wei also anxiously looked at the slip, his eyes almost popping out, carefully examining the prominent "100."

Hearing Chen Wei and Wang Wei's voices, Li Wei hurriedly checked the computer. It was at that moment that he shockingly realized the chaos he had caused. "Oh my, how did I... order 100 instead?" he wondered, holding his head and widening his eyes, desperately looking back at the screen.

The kitchen immediately descended into chaos. Chen Wei and Wang Wei busied themselves to fulfill this unrealistic order, flour and stuffing were used in a hurried and messy manner. After about an hour, they completed the task and 100 golden and fragrant dumplings came out of the oven.

Although this chaos temporarily made them neglect other customers, to their surprise, when they were done, the laughter of the customers drowned out any previous grievances. They smiled as they looked at the small mountain of freshly cooked dumplings, and some people even burst into laughter.

Amidst the awkwardness, Li Wei explained to the customer, apologizing and telling him that there was a little problem. Unexpectedly, the customer looked at him with a smile and nodded. He readily agreed to pay for the dumplings and suggested giving the extra ones to the other customers in the restaurant. And so, on this ordinary afternoon, the dumpling restaurant in the little alley became filled with laughter, joy, and love.

Everyone joyfully tasted the extra dumplings, sharing their own stories and even taking photos to share on social media. In an instant, this misunderstanding attracted the interest of more people. The chaos caused by Li Wei's mistake was resolved in a comedic way, and this story continued to be passed down among the neighbors.

When asked about this misunderstanding, the Three Wei simply smiled and remained silent. Perhaps, deep down in their hearts, they knew that chaos, laughter, and liveliness were the symphony of life. The small failures in their business did not bring disaster but instead added to their passion for the restaurant and for life. And this, was the burning love they had for their hometown.
